PERMITS & INSURANCE

Permits and Insurance Policy for Flick Fireworks

  1. Permit Application and Booking: All bookings requiring permits for fireworks displays must be made at least 45 days in advance of the scheduled event. Bookings made less than 45 days in advance are subject to a $200 late fee. This advance notice is essential to ensure sufficient time for processing necessary permits and obtaining responses from relevant agencies to comply with the applicable by-laws.

  2. Permit Fees: The total cost for the fireworks permit, noise exemption permit, and insurance is as follows:

  • Fireworks Permit: $643.50
  • Noise Exemption Permit: $100
  • Insurance: $300
  • Taxes: Applicable taxes as per city regulations
  1. Full Payment with Application: The fees for permits and insurance must be submitted in full along with the permit application. Payment will be made directly to the city and is non-refundable, even if the permit is ultimately denied. Please contact 311 for more info regarding city non-refundable policy.

  2. Permit Approval and Denial: Every effort will be made by Flick Fireworks to secure the necessary permits for the scheduled event. However, in the event that the city denies the permit for reasons beyond our control, the fees paid will not be refunded as the City of Toronto has a no refund policy.

  3. Alternate Date Offer: If the original event date or location is denied a permit by the city, Flick Fireworks will, at its management's discretion, offer one alternate date for the fireworks display. The alternate date will be proposed based on availability and city regulations.

  4. Securing Permits Independently: Clients have the option to secure permits and insurance independently. However, in such cases, clients must sign a waiver releasing Flick Fireworks from any liability and responsibility in the event of harm, injury, or damage resulting from the fireworks display.

  5. Liability and Responsibility: Flick Fireworks will exercise utmost care and professionalism in providing fireworks displays. However, clients acknowledge that fireworks displays inherently involve risks, and Flick Fireworks shall not be held liable for any damages, injuries, or harm caused by the fireworks display, whether during setup, firing, or the event itself.

  6. Compliance with Safety Standards: Clients agree to comply with all safety guidelines and regulations provided by Flick Fireworks and local authorities during the setup and execution of the fireworks display. Failure to adhere to safety standards may result in the termination of the display without refund.

  7. Cancellation Policy: In the event of a cancellation by the client, any deposits or payments made to secure the event date are non-refundable.

  8. Insurance Coverage: Flick Fireworks obtains its own liability insurance coverage, which will apply during the setup and firing of the fireworks display. Clients who opt to secure permits and insurance independently must ensure their insurance coverage meets the necessary requirements and provide proof of such coverage.

By submitting a permit application and booking with Flick Fireworks, clients acknowledge and agree to comply with the terms outlined in this policy. Flick Fireworks reserves the right to modify this policy as needed, and clients will be notified of any changes accordingly.
